The BEST sautéed green beans

Description

Garlic, caramelized onions and bone broth build irresistible flavor in these show stopping sauteed green beans! This side dish will be the star of the meal.


Ingredients

Scale

1 Tbsp olive oil

16 oz fresh green beans- trimmed

1/4 medium onion- sliced

1 garlic clove

1/41/3 cup (homemade SCD legal if necessary) bone broth. See recipe HERE

1/4 tsp salt plus more to taste

1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper

1/4 tsp lemon zest


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet.
  2. Add garlic, sliced onion, trimmed green beans, salt and pepper to the skillet.
  3. Saute for 4-5 minutes until onions begin to caramelize.
  4. Add bone broth, cover and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Raise the heat, remove the lid and reduce/boil until all of the liquid has been absorbed.
  6. Taste and add salt/pepper if desired.
  7. Toss green beans with lemon zest.
  8. Keep warm in a 170 degree oven until the rest of the meal is ready or serve immediately.  Enjoy!
