Description
Garlic, caramelized onions and bone broth build irresistible flavor in these show stopping sauteed green beans! This side dish will be the star of the meal.
Ingredients

1 Tbsp olive oil
16 oz fresh green beans- trimmed
1/4 medium onion- sliced
1 garlic clove
1/4–1/3 cup (homemade SCD legal if necessary) bone broth. See recipe HERE
1/4 tsp salt plus more to taste
1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper
1/4 tsp lemon zest
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet.
- Add garlic, sliced onion, trimmed green beans, salt and pepper to the skillet.
- Saute for 4-5 minutes until onions begin to caramelize.
- Add bone broth, cover and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
- Raise the heat, remove the lid and reduce/boil until all of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Taste and add salt/pepper if desired.
- Toss green beans with lemon zest.
- Keep warm in a 170 degree oven until the rest of the meal is ready or serve immediately. Enjoy!
